Bodhgaya is a popular spot for Buddhist pilgrims and for Indian holiday makers. It is, however, a desperately poor part of India that at the time of writing is still gripped in drought. While alcohol is available in restaurants, there are no bars. The Royal Residency is relatively co

Hotel Boodhgaya Gautam Gaya is an epitome of service, courtesy, maintenance and quality of food. It outshines the rest in it's category. Our stay for five days during a conference was really delightful. Everything was exactly the way we wanted it.

The Royal Residency was supposedly the best hotel in Bodhgaya as ranked in guide books and per our travel agency. And priced accordingly. What we found was probably the worst hotel we have ever been unfortunate enough to stay. The rooms were large but dark, old and dirty. There were stains, mark

We spent three nights here in Bodh Gaya for a wedding. It was miserable. Seeing it was rated #2 on tripadvisor we thought it should be good or at least ok. It was neither. It was incredibly expensive and overpriced, as most of the hotels in Bodh Gaya for what you get.The hotel hallways were filthy w

Located in the Land of "Bhagwan Buddha", the Royal Residency is situated in the heart of the city of Bodhgaya. All Tourist attractions in Bodhgaya such as Mahabodhi, Japanese Temple etc. are at waking distance. The food & hospitality will speak for itself.Really enjoyed my 4 day stay.
