Windamere's "Old Raj" atmosphere is captivating. Our comfortable room had views over town to mountains beyond. In the evenings - without our asking - a fire was lit for our comfort (there was also a heater). Meals in the restaurant (candlelit at night) were of a very high standard and impeccable ser

This heritage hotel in Darjeeling will give you the opportunity to indulge into the luxury of the authentic colonial-era property . I am really grateful to them as they took care of my mom who travelled solo for the first time. I was bit nervous about the trip as my mom never travelled alone for h

My mother and I stayed at Windamere for three nights recently and thoroughly relished our time here. The hospitality was top-notch! Everyone from the dining staff to the housekeeping staff to the reception staff were all so courteous and helpful. The property itself is soaked in nostalgia for a bygo

We visited from USA with family during Christmas. First of all we booked months ahead, but they gave us two rooms quite far from each other. Then one of the rooms which was in the main building, you cant even lock or unlock the door without fiddling with the keys for a minute. The carpets were worn

The Windamere occupies a prominent location overlooking the famous Chowrasta at the far end of Darjeeling’s Mall. During a recent visit to Darjeeling, my wife and I were planning have lunch there, but a friend who lives in Darjeeling suggested that we go there for high tea instead of lunch. We were

We were really looking forward to this fancy afternoon tea we had booked. First of all it was really hard to come in contact with them to make a booking. They never answered what time we should arrive and I sent two emails asking. It wasn’t much of afternoon tea, scones where dry, the cream was froz

our plan was to stay for two days but considering their attitude and unprofessional behaviour had to curtail our stay for one day only. I was told that they have a staff strength of 60-70 personnel but everyone vanishes in night except a guard. Nobody attends the phone (landline or mobile) and worse
