The hotel is quite small, with less than 2 dozen rooms, housed in an old haveli (mansion), with a central open courtyard surrounded by 2 floors of rooms. It's very understated, being accessed by a back alley so it has no street frontage to speak of. The nearest dropoff point is 5 minutes away on th

The Suryauday Haveli has a really excellent location for those people wanting to experience being near the Ganges at Varanasi . We have just completed a two night stay in a room with a river view and found the room to be comfortable and clean. All the staff are friendly and very helpful. The restaur

It is my pleasure to write a warm review for the folks at Amritara SuryaUday Haveli. I came here to enjoy a weekend with friends and ended spending a few days to explore the city further. The rooms are very neat, clean, and quaint with affordable pricing. The resto-cafe meets your needs as a traveler

Our room, despite being a river view was very small and very basic. I was actually quite underwhelmed at the size and sparseness of the room. During our stay the housekeeping seemed lacking but overall the hotel is extremely quaint with excellent front office and fnb staff and the food is simply a

I am a yoga teacher from the US who led a retreat in India in October 2019. I was really happy with my experience at this hotel. The staff was highly accommodating, and super friendly. The hotel's location right on one of the main ghats made it accessible for us to walk around the main part of Varana

Amritara Suryauday Haveli is situated on one of the most peaceful and cleanest ghats at Varanasi. Apart from having a superb location, the haveli interiors are very pretty! Being a former kothi of some Nepalis, the corridors are very airy, and in general, the property is very green. The hotel staff

If you're visiting Varanasi, it's worth splashing out to stay at a hotel on the Ganges. The view from the rooftop terrace is amazing. All hotels near the Ganges are vegetarian and no alcohol out of respect to the river, but that was fine by us. Included in the price is an evening boat trip
