This is an old hotel and the age is showing. The staff are however very helpful (nice to see in a government run place) and serve with a smile. Rooms are where the age really shows and are just about OK, but you really deserve better for the price. There is WiFi in the lobby but not in the roomsThe restaurant is used by locals often for their parties and this was the case on both the days I stayed

Well situated with an excellent view over some of Kohima. Friendly & helpful staff. My room was comfortable but the dated & on reflection rather expensive. There's a good restaurant attached, there was absolutely nothing to do on New Years' Eve & the front gates were still locked at 10pm.

This is a government run hotel with a huge and imposing entrance hall. The rooms were clean but badly in need of refurbishment with scuffed paintwork and ancient fixtures and fittings, the windows didn't close properly letting flies in. There was a balcony partly overlooking a garden but the view wa

Worst hotel ever visited. The ladies over the counter have no decency to interact with the clients. This hotel can knock off ur booking despite reconfirmation for the sake of bigger bookings and leave u nowhere to go. The booking was done thru GOibibo and was reconfirmed but they knocked off without

It is the worst hotel and the most irresponsible one I have encountered in 21 years of travel experience. I had a booking confirmation here, through my travel agent, paid fully, and when I arrived there at the hotel reception desk, the hotel refused to acknowledge the booking. The three ladies at th

We went to Kohima as part of a two week trip to NE India, and our prime aim was to visit the War Cemetery. We had booked a suite in the hotel Japfu hoping that it would be better than some of the reviews had indicated. It was dreadful. The suites are located in a damp dark basement. Ours had peeling

Amongst the best once upon a time in Kohima but unfortunately it is not so anymore. The best part if the hotel is its location and accessibility to public transport and shops close by. The rooms unfortunately are in poor conditions with old carpets and do not seem to be ventilated well. In terms of

We stayed at the Hotel Japfu for one night (some time ago, but I was moved to write this after reading other more recent reviews) because it was the only place to stay in Kohima on our tour of Assam and Nagaland. It certainly had an institutional feel, reminiscent of the Communist era in Eastern Eu
